What is the competence network?

Close cooperation between business and research enables participating companies to make optimum use of growth potentials while systematically exploiting synergies in the sales and marketing areas.

The increasing relevance of geodata - for example, in connection with disaster management or business location information - gives this process extra momentum.

The network collaborates extensively with the Brandenburg Economic Development Board (ZAB). Dr. Peter A. Hecker, Network Manager GEOkomm networks: "The partner companies and research institutes united in the competence network already offer innovative products and services for the international market. The network gives them a chance to develop new areas of business beyond the local region - and to cooperate with other branches of industry wherever this makes sense."

The network enables existing core competencies to be strengthened, costs reduced by practising a meaningful division of labour and new business models and innovative solutions jointly implemented. The partners' diverse competencies are focused on four spheres of work:

* Galileo is a trademark of the European Commission and the space program Galileo is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Space Agency.
