Digital surface and terrain models of different river areas are needed for the planning of flood protection.
These models are computed from data acquired by a laser scanner. The data is collected
from an altitude of 700-900 meters, with a dot
matrix of 3 points/m², position accuracy < 0,30 m,
accuracy in height < 0,15 m. A digital camera integrated into the laser scanner creates additional aerial colour photographs. Digital orthophotos are computed from these photographs and the laser data.
